Rainmeter is being goofy

Go to solution Solved by Altecice,

Thats correct you are just missing a little bit under variables

[Variables]; Variables declared here can be used later on between two # characters (e.g. #MyVariable#).fontName=Trebuchet MStextSize=8colorBar=235,170,0,255colorText=255,255,255,205disk1=C:disk2=D:disk3=E:; ------------should add a 4th diskdisk4=F:

Right now you have told it to name the disk "#disk4#/ because it has no variable name.

So, I just added a 4th storage drive to my rig, and I changed the Rainmeter skin to show this. But... I don't think it likes 4 disks. This is what it does.

213d41c5f2.png

As you can see, drive E:\ (which you can't really distinguish) is being covered by #disk4#. Now, my 4th drive doesn't follow the normal C:\ D:\ E:\ pattern. Its drive letter is U:\. So, I've put a link to the 4 disks .ini file so that (hopefully) someone can look at it and make any needed changes. I'm still a bit of a n00b when it comes to editing the skins (the most I've really done is remove the Task Manager launch when you click system on the stock illustro system skin).

I had a feeling it would be really simple like that. xD Guess that's what happens when I do this so close to 11 at night.

I spent countless hours getting a custom skin to work... lots of silly small mistakes like this are made. But its how we learn :D

Well... It knows that my U:\ drive is a thing. But it still lays it on top of E:\.

again small mistakes:

[meterLabelDisk3]Meter=STRINGMeterStyle=styleLeftTextX=10Y=80 <---------- here its spaced 80 on the YW=190H=14Text="#disk3#\"LeftMouseUpAction=!Execute ["#disk3#\"][meterValueDisk3]Meter=STRINGMeterStyle=styleRightTextMeasureName=measureUsedDisk3MeasureName2=measureTotalDisk3X=200Y=0rW=190H=14Text="%1B/%2B used"NumOfDecimals=1AutoScale=1[meterBarDisk3]Meter=BARMeterStyle=styleBarMeasureName=measureUsedDisk3X=10Y=92W=190H=1[meterLabelDisk4]Meter=STRINGMeterStyle=styleLeftTextX=10Y=80 <---------- here its spaced 80 on the Y (so overlaying the last as they are both on the same Y space)W=190H=14Text="#disk4#\"LeftMouseUpAction=!Execute ["#disk4#\"][meterValueDisk4]Meter=STRINGMeterStyle=styleRightTextMeasureName=measureUsedDisk4MeasureName2=measureTotalDisk4X=200Y=0rW=190H=14Text="%1B/%2B used"NumOfDecimals=1AutoScale=1[meterBarDisk4]Meter=BARMeterStyle=styleBarMeasureName=measureUsedDisk4X=10Y=92 <------------- and again this is on the same Y axis as drive 3W=190H=1

you want to advance them... (so they sit futher down the space) now from my look through the ini:

[meterLabelDisk#] section should have its Y advanced by 20

[meterBarDisk#] same as above

This will sort your overlay issue but you will notice it will now sit out width the black background of that widget... follow what I did above and find and then add to the backgrounds Y axis.

The answer:

[Rainmeter]; This section contains general settings that can be used to change how Rainmeter behaves.Author=poiruAppVersion=2003000Update=1000Background=#@#Background.png; #@# is equal to Rainmeter\Skins\illustro\@ResourcesBackgroundMode=3BackgroundMargins=0,34,0,14 <---- right here is xyz axis and transparency (hence 4 sets of numbers)

I cant tell you the exact size req as I cant function that well at 4AM but keep adding to the Y axis till it looks right to you.

Well... I'm not home right now, but I did just remember another problem I'm having. Disk 4 comes up fine, but the little yellow use bar is nowhere to be seen. It's probably an extremely obvious oversight, but... You know...
