are the batman games connected

Both batman arkham city and arkham origins are on sale right now but i dont have enough money for both so i question are they connected ie will i understand arkham origins if i haven't played the early games or do you recommend playing them in order. (asylum-city-origins). Thx and as a side note which did u guys like the most.

 

They are connected, but you don't need to play them in ordr to understand the story (except some small parts, but it's not very important). That said, between city and origins city is by far the better game. If you have to choose get city, not origins.

If you want to play them chronologically you'd have to do Origins, Asylum, City obviously. Origins sucked (IMO). Asylum and City are 100% worth it but you don't really need to have played one to play the other. Although you will appreciate all the new things Batman can do in City more if you played Asylum first.

City is top notch, origins is good but i dont know it just feels meh by no means is it a bad game but i would got for city first then if you like the style go for origins.
