Is 1440p worth it in visual quality after its cons of making games harder to run and leaving a bigger hole in your wallet are taken into account?

I'm worried that the difference in 1080p to 1440p won't be noticeable at arms length.

no, even fairly close I don't think it's that big of a difference. tbh the only upgrade anyone should make over 1080p would be going 4K or Ultrawide.

It definitely looks better. Whether you find it worth the extra cost depends on you.

In my case I'd need to shell out cash for a 2nd 970 and an Asus PB278Q to get the experience I want at 1440p. I prefer to stay at 1080p and do other things with that cash.

It looks better and you have a better pixel density, if you are a programmer or have a lot of programs open then it's really nice.

Depending on your hardware, 1440p could be fine or ruin your gaming experience. What's your GPU?

Of course it's better, but at this point most cards can't handle it at the same settings as 1080p.

It does look alot better. But It's definitely not a necessity. 1440p 144hz user here.

Thank you.
