That seems like a pretty great build to me. The only thing I might consider changing if going 1866 MHz Ram rather than 1600.

It makes literally NO difference doing almost anything..... Unless he's running an APU based system then there's no chance of performance increase...

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

You are right in that there tends to be very little difference across various applications, but it can't hurt to have more assuming that you don't sacrifice latency and often you can do this without paying much of a premium.

The 1866MHz versions of my current ram cost $4 or 5% more

I am well aware of this video and literally watched it before posting my reply. Even Linus conceded that there are case where higher MHz receives and advantage and if you look at the dollar per fps chart at 3:00 you will see that 1866 MHz is very close if not the same as 1600 MHz.

I say that you shouldn't spend your money trying to get the fastest RAM possible. Anything over 1866 is just pointless on a rig with an actual GPU. Although for APUs the sky's the limit. But for his sake, he should just find RAM that he likes aesthetically and not worry too much about the speed and latency of it,
