Does my WD Black sounds weird?

Pooherino ツ

I just bought a brand new WD Black, and its making a noise like you would grind your nail on the table. Now I know how hard drives work so don't bother explain the disk with the arm, but my seagate barracuda never make that noise before, the barracuda make a quieter and more reasonable noise, they both run at 7200rpm. So im just wondering if that is normal.

Hi there @Pooherino ツ!

Would you describe the clunking as regular or irregular (ie: when you use it more, they become more frequent or even audible)?

Also, you can run a test with WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostics to see if anything wrong will be detected by the software. Just make sure to backup your data before running an extended test if you decide to do one, because if the program detects any errors, it will try to fix them automatically.

Let me know how it went. :)
