How to backup EVERYTHING

So I wanted to try Steam OS but I don't want to loose my existing OS with all the settings and all the data. Got some programs + OS + settings on my SSD and the rest is on my HDD.

Why dont you just make an os partition?

If you just want to try it, why not use a USB stick or a partition to install the OS and see if you like it?

Why don't you use a virtual machine to try Steam OS on?

You can also create 2 different partitions, set up a boot loader and install Steam OS on the second partition.

Not sure how to do partitioning and stuff but for the virtual machine I know how.

You could just use a USB stick to try it out. Not sure how much room the OS takes, but it's probably not a lot.

Just go to disk management and partition off some storage. After that install the os and put it at the top of your boot order in your uefi bios.
