PSU noise issue

Go to solution Solved by WoodenMarker,

It seems like it's coil whine and I'm guessing it's probably the graphics card instead of the psu.

My system ran with a Corsair HX750 PSU and a GTX660 for a little over a year and I did not have any issues. The other day I installed a GTX970 (msi OC edition) and now I am having issues with a buzzing sound coming from the PSU.  The PSU does not buzz during casual use; however, when I start gaming and my GPU starts consuming more power my PSU starts buzzing. The buzzing sounds electronic and is continuous. I do not believe that it is the fan inside the PSU because the buzzing stops immediately when I tab out of games. I am unsure how to approach this situation and what steps I need to take from here. Any advice is much appreciated.

Could this possibly be because the new graphics card requires both an eight and a six pin power connector as opposed to the single 6 pin of my older graphics card?
