Ram Heatsinks

Hey

I'm planning a blue/black pc upgrade soon but some of my current ram is red.

To me it would be stupid to buy new ram just for a different color.

So can I just take off the heatsinks and just install them without them?

You can run them without heatsinks.

But if you are planning to overclock and/or use them in a case with very bad airflow, I wouldn´t recommend it.

I think you can I have seen some tutorials but be careful maybe some of them are glued to the chips and pulling the heat sink apart you may rip the chip out of the PCB

not really, aslong you don´t have 3 windforce cards installed in sli. It shouldn´t be a problem.

But like cesrai said, watch out if it´s glued on (never heard of glued on heatsinks?)
