So basically what happened is that I built my computer and it didnt post. So I tested the psu after had built the computer by plugging it into the hdd and using the included tester. Doesnt work, no worries Ill just rma it. Got another one today and I plug it into the hdd and test it. It works, fans spin, yay. But then I plug it the big mobo conector into the mobo. Only the cpu cooler was plugged in. Nothing. I then unplugged it all and tested the psu again with the hdd. All I get is buzz. No fan. Is my mobo shorting out my psu as this is the only thing I can think of.

Regards,
Jackson

Yes something is shorting your psu, check for the isolation of your psu cables, don´t let anything metalish hang around or touch the mainboard while working. (take it out the case and test it on something wooden or the mainboard box)

Look on the mainboard and psu power connectors if the pins are not bend or something like that.

Hope someone else can help you with this if this didn´t help you.

Good luck

Ill take it out when I get back to my house on sunday as I am currently on vacation. But also I tested it afterwords and it still didnt work, wouldnt that point towards permanent damages?
