Hello I am in the planning stage of building a PC for a family member and they are wanting a lot of USB 3.0 ports on the front. I am thinking of a front 5.25 bay 3.0 hub what hub has the most ports? Next is can you buy a 3.0 spliter off the mobo. So I can still use the case usb and a front panel hub.

AMD A10-7850k, Cooler Master 212 EVO, Team 2133 2x4gb, V300 120gb, DVD, 3 HDD, MSI A88X-G43, Asus Strix GTX 970, EVGA Super Nova G2 850watt, Acer B326HUL

You could but most motherboards come with only one internal USB 3.0 header, which is good enough for 2x USB 3.0 ports in the front. You will have to buy extension cables and run the connections from the back of the board, meaning the ports on the IO, but that will be gimmicky and will probably require cutting a small whole in the case to run the cables internally.

That is what I wanted to know. So the internal mobo 3.0 connection can only power 2?

I'll probably end up just running a hub with a extenion from the I/O panel.
