Looking for help on a Monitor.  First understand I built a new computer with M.2 SSD and all the stuff you would assume goes with that type computer.  Currently I am running one Windforce  G1 GTX 980.  Assume I am running SLI because I will be as soon as I get a monitor.  No need for SLI in 1080p with the Gigabyte GTX 980.

1.  Wait on the Asus Swift to correct all the issues with that monitor?  I do not mind a CPU lottery as even if you get a CPU that does not overclock well, you still get a good CPU.  Monitor lottery I am against 100%.

2.  Wait on the 27" Benq g-sync?  I am not sure yet if it will be 1440p or not.  If it is 1080p then it is out of the choice.  I have spent way too much for 1080p.

3.  Acer XB280HK.  I have just read about it and it seems to be an awesome monitor, from reviews on Newegg.

Currently, those are my choices.  I built this new computer for g-sync and 144hz.  I want to go with 27" or at least not smaller.  I am not worried about FPS except when I play BF4.  Games like WoW, or GTA V, as long as I get 60hz, that is fine.  Right now I am overclocking my monitor to 75hz and it is an amazing difference from 60hz.  I cannot explain why, but there is a difference.

I have waited so long for a Swift, I am having issues giving up on it.  The 4k Acer seems to have promise, but I worry about FPS on that monitor.  I am not going to run 3 way SLI, unless I find $3000 to buy the new water cooled system from Gigabyte.  I have to admit that seems like an awesome system, but I have no need for the suitcase that comes with it.

I can go read stuff on my own, but would like to hear from you guys.  Give me some things I have not thought about.

Dont buy the 3000$ gigabyte 3 way watercooling thingy. It is an absolute waste. 3 gtx 980's cost 1500 - 1700$ , adding wc'ing will add another 800$ . Which is in total around 2300$ - 2500$.

Also custom watercooling looks ALOT better, it cools better and costs less.

That gigabyte hulk is a mistake IMO.

Better stick with 2 GTX 980's , the third one won't add much more marginable performance.

For the monitor i recommend ASUS over ACER. ASUS is an incredible company, and where did you hear about monitor lottery? Overclocking a monitor is useless anyway...

Thanks for the reply.  I have no intention of buying the Gigabyte deal.  And I agree you could make water cooling look so cool.

I have been watching videos since I left my post and saw where the Acer is 60hz.  I am not sure, right now, if refresh or resolution is better.  So, I shall do some research.

As for the lottery.  You have not heard that?  Read the reviews on the Swift.  It seems like the numbers are 50% good and 50% bad.  Most everyone talks about the bad QC on the Swift monitor.  One guy called it a lottery because you may get a good one and may not.

I do disagree with overclocking the monitor.  I can say without a doubt it makes a difference.  Again, I am not sure why, but it seems like colors are better, games are smoother.  For example, I get dizzy when I play WoW.  At the higher refresh rates I do not.  Weird maybe but it is true.
