I can't really find anything for performance benchmarks at 3440x1440, so I figured I'd ask.

Is it worth the extra 500 bucks for dual 980s over dual 970s for this? They're still 60hz displays, so anything over 60 really isn't that big of a deal. Just really want to keep my minimums up.

Linus made a video,

If you're in the price range for 2x GTX980s, Look towards 3x GTX970s instead (proving your case/motherboard can support it). Personally I like 21:9 monitors but for games it just isn't something thats always supported. Can't help you with how they play at 21:9 1440p though, sorry

Not really interested in 3 GPUs, don't want to deal with the heat of it.

Its more about what I can get by with, if two 970s is already cutting it in all the games I play then wasting 350 more dollars on 3 of them is pointless.
