I have a best I can build for $800 gaming PC, and need some okay peripherals to go with it. What you guys recommend? I like lots of easy access buttons, programmable, and I do a fair bit of skyping with my friends. Need a good MIC. What's the general consensus on good, not to pricey mouse, keyboard, monitor, headset, and maybe keypad? Also, anything else I might need?

Just a guy who peaked at building back in the days of the GTX 980. If you see me here, assume i have technical knowledge akin to a committed hobbyist builder back then. If something's changed, you'll need to tell me(nicely plz). I'm probably asking for help with the modern build scene since I have no clue what's going on.

My general consensus for peripherals is good mouse and cheap keyboard if on a budget.

For a Mic, you're out of my realm of knowledge and I hope somebody can help you with this. I do know that the Blue Yeti is very good (@ ;) )

And for the budget, is everything for the peripherals limited to $800. What's the entire budget for the peripherals if not?

For what kind of keyswitch take a look at the thread in my sig and take some time for the quiz in it.

For the mouse, what grip do you use and how big are your hands?

And you don't need a keypad unless you need macros up the wazoo.

Maybe a mousepad perhaps if I were to add anything?

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Ah, here's the keyswitch thread http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/255051-what-key-switch-should-i-get-look-here/

And for a mouse, by "palm grip but a bit off" do you mean palm grip with some sort of claw-like grip to it or palm-like with a lot of fingertip gripping? Either way I say, for your budget especially, this Anker mouse is great http://www.amazon.com/Precision-Programmable-Buttons-Cartridges-Switches/dp/B00AAQRNQ8/ref=sr_1_5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1419301450&sr=1-5&keywords=gaming+mouse

If you want to spend a bit more on the mouse, the Logitech G700s is pretty good.

For a mousepad, what @RevoltTrain said above.

For a monitor, if you're maxing out at 200 then you may want to buy a used one. I've seen a 1080p Dell Ultrasharp in a shop for 80 bucks and I think you should just do some hunting around.

For a keyboard, get back to me on that switch preference as some switches may bring you over your budget and rubber domes may be the only way.

Yay, an easy one!

Look into the cheaper ones on this PCPartPicker list here as they are all honestly great keyboards. If they're out of budget, then a (admittedly boring rubber-dome) Corsair K30 will do you well.
