Speedfan freezes PC?

Hey there,

 

I am trying to configure my build to be semi-passive. Therefore I need Speedfan to control my fans. When ever I open the program, it just freezes my PC. I have used this program before on the same PC, but I just installed it today (after a windows re-install), and now it won't work.

 

 

BTW: I can get NZXT CAM to work, but it can't (or I can't figure out) how to set fan speeds.

Speedfan makes my pc to freeze up completely too, sometimes it even scares the shit out of me when i have my speakers turned on, because i get that annoying sound...
Funnily enough, it only happens when the PC has been on for a while, but not when I turn Speedfan on as soon the pc boots up.
(I use it for rainmeter)

Are you kidding. That's why then... FML I love speedfan...

 

Anyway Anyone know an alternative that can control DC fans?
