GTX 770 non-reference or 780 reference?

Go to solution Solved by Elbstrand,

The 780 has a different chip then the 770, 680 -> 660ti. Its is quite more powerful. Don't know if you really want to pay the premium price for it, tho.

There is already the EVGA 780 Super Clocked with ACX cooler and there will be cards from MSI and Asus soon i think.

Welcome to the forum! I would definitely suggest going for the reference GTX 780. There were some non-reference 780s unveiled at computex, and Gigabyte is selling a kit, where you have to put on the non-reference cooler yourself. There is also EVGA's ACX version, which is essentially their version of an aftermarket cooler. However, the reference cooler is quite good. You can see the benchmarks for each card and how they compare here:

I heard that Nvidia might not give permission to make non-reference 780s because they would outclass the titan..? Just a hoax?

Well maybe thats about non-reference boards and 6gb versions, don't know exactly.

The 780, if cooled enough, can already outclass the titan in certain scenarios.

Depends on your taste, i'm not a huge fan of the windforce design. But i didnt see any reviews yet.

The EVGA ACX is even a little bit cheaper

But both of them seem to be out of stock anyway, maybe just wait a couple of weeks until others cards are out.
