Quick gpu upgrade question.

TechTheWorld

Hey guys.

I currently have a 7870 and I found a 7970 for $150 on Craigslist near me. It was used for mining for a couple months and that is all. It still runs and everything. So my question is: Is it worth it for me to get this card?

Thanks!

No I am not trying to crossfire, they do have two 7970's for sale. But I don't have the cash. And I would have to get a new power supply. I was asking about just one.

I would do it.  It seems like a nice upgrade for cheap.

Go for it, you won't find that level of performance for cheaper anywhere else.

7970 for 150 is a pretty good deal. It's basically an r9 280x. And those cards are averaging around 250.

The only thing I'd be concerned with is if they were only used for a couple months of mining, we're they used before that? That card is rather old, the chances of finding one brand new in box are unlikely.
