What cache?

Also I am using Nova launcher

system settings/ apps/ all apps/ nova launcher/ force stop and clear cache

if that doesn't work try to uninstall the launcher and go back to your stock config.

I was re-installing some Clash of Clans from the Google Playstore and it was downloading and then installation began and it took for ever and I went out of Google Play and back in and it was installed. Only then I realised, I had no icon. Not in the drawer, not on main screen. nothing. The app was still in Settings and Google Play, but I have no shortcut. I have tried re-installing it several times and it was the same always. I even left the installation over night and it didn't report it finished.

How can I fix this?

Please help.

force stop your system launcher and and clear cache. that might do the trick.
