Is there any disadvantages in using a 2.5" hard drive instead of a 3.5? Shorter lifespan, more fragile etc? Too much of a cheapo to get large SSD's for an upcoming build  :P

Should have posted this in Storage forum, sorry

Been wondering about that too, all I know is that they tend to have lower cache and capacities, and tend to have a higher dollar to space ratio. Lower capacity wouldn't bother me in the cases where I'd buy a 2.5" mechanical drive.
