Best cpu for virtual server hosting

What is the best relatively cheap cpu I can get for virtual server hosting? Are the older Xeon's any good?

Really depends how much you want to spend and then factoring in the running costs. Those older Xeons chew through power.

I live In Iceland and power is almost free so running costs aren't really a problem. I would like to spend like 200-300 bucks.

FX8320 / FX8350, would be a good option if you ask me.

This chip works great for virtualizations.

 

Especialy if you wanne use something like proxmox.
