Hey guys,

I'm planning a build for in a month or so, and since my last post in the Build section ( http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/15062-comment-on-my-planned-build/ ) there've been a few changes, mainly the PSU (which is now a Corsair CX600M) and the switch from Ivy to Haswell.

Now, the board I selected for the 3570K, an MSI Z77A-G43, was very good value at the time, but Haswell has upped the prices of boards. I was wondering if there was a better value board for around the same price (and preferably not more) as the Z87-G43, which will be paired with a 4670K. I looked around a bit, but it seemed that the MSI board was still very good value, however I'm not sure. If you could help me out, that'd be great.

Thanks in advance!

what is your spending limit?

I'm not sure what your budget is, but the MSI Z87-G45 motherboard seems pretty good for just under $200 AUD

If you'd read the post, my budget for the board is around the price of the Z87-G43. The price in my area is €102,80; but I didn't include it because I've got a good price for it and it might vary from region to region.

Just pick the cheapest z87 board you can find. It's not like there are any especially bad ones.

i was thinking of buying the same combo as well..... is the g45 better at overclocking than the g43?

It's slightly more high quality, so it might make for a slight improvement. The big difference is the SLI and Gaming option (black and red)

I have an Asus z87-a with a 4670K.

It is a decent motherboard, at a good price (145 euro @ Alternate)

+1 This is a great entry board for overclocking.
