Years ago I owned an Asus prebuilt PC that had like 1 fan in it.  It was cramped and ram my OC'ed GTX 480 with an I7-920 on a 430W PSU for 2 years.  This was before I really knew about building my own from scratch.  I did have software to monitor my GTX 480.  It ran at around 90*C for a year (and it lasted another 2 years then I sold it).  But my room was 35*C all summer due to this.  So now I have an I7-920 in this build I am selling, and it idles at 45*C, and around 50*C in windows and around 70-80*C in extreme gaming.  Forgot how hot this CPU ran.  Yes it's a stock heatsink, I am selling it soon on eBay so not very concerned about it.  This is a friends PC she gave me and I overhauled it.  But even with 4 case fans DAMN lol...

Yes, finding CPU coolers that fit LGA 1366 for less than 20 bucks BEFORE rebates is tough!!
