CPU Spiking particularly in BF4?

Go to solution Solved by StareX,

Guess it's the Origin overlay ;(.....

Hello!

My CPU? I think is acting weird with BF4 lately.. some time ago I have successfully began playing BF4 again without no problem with my old Razer imperator mouse, the mouse had some issues so it disconnected me a few times (Probably unimportant, but I bought a new mouse.. now it's acting weird? or it did it before .. I don't remember. Can't see how changing a mouse can cause CPU spikes.).. and the thing is the game was smooth as butter with my CPU being overclocked to 4.2Ghz.

Mmm, specs are down below in my sig btw! but I got an i5 3570k, which is an OK processor, right?

However, lately I've been getting spikes in particular to this game, no others.

As in CS GO, COD AW, Batman, etc.. other games Im running them fine.

So what did I try?

- I know it's not my GPU, although tried to tweak the settings, didn't help. I did "Perfoverlay.drawgraph" to spot what spikes, and it was the CPU.

- Downclocking my CPU to its default clock which is 3.4Ghz, 3.8GHz boost if the CPU needs it. (i5 3570k 3.40-3.80[GHz])

- Monitoring temperatures of my CPU, which is on idle 30-35*C, sometimes 40-45*C. On load

3.4-3.8Ghz = 60,70*C

4.2Ghz = 65,77*C

Although these temperatures are fairly identical to other games aswell, I don't see why Temps is an issue so mark that off your "answering maybe" list. it's not it.

What could cause these spikes? Hmmhm... stutters in an efficient language.

Help!

P.S. Video in Youtube: v=ijipBEuHtjA   - I am getting about the same as he is getting but not constantly like him. I'm getting only 1 CPU spike per 10-15 seconds. Not 3 CPU spikes like the video shows.

Probably some game update that broke it. Bf4 is strange. Running in x64 mode can change things if it wasn't already. I had this strange issue with mega gpu drops and after a update and make it run as administrator it fixed it self.

Is it just me or is Grammar slowly becoming extinct on LTT?

I would rather believe it's not a problem with the game, as anybody in the BF4 community can play right now and doesn't have this problem. But I'll try to run it as an admin just to test it out.

P.S. I have already tried to turn off page file.. trying to look for solutions in the net and found it.. no luck.

Okay!

Summary, I have fixed it somehow.

What did I do?

- Ran BF4 on admin mode, both .exes

Weirdly enough, it worked by turning on the Admin mode. Question is, why does it require me to run this as an admin...? to avoid CPU spikes. what does it have anything to do with this?

Sounds about right. That's the same problem everyone is having lately with the latest origin update.
