Pretty weird problem (input)

Go to solution Solved by ZarosTenjin,

Okay i've solved the problem and it was actually kinda dumb...

it wasnt the OS but the mouse at fault, after spending ages trying to figure out what could be wrong in the OS i went on to check the mouse and the 'mouse wheel right tilt'-button was actually perma in. i prodded a bit at it and it sprung out having the mouses behavior return to normal.

Heyho,

ever since yesterday i am having a problem which i havent encountered at all.. and it strikes me as pretty weird.

So ever since yesterday when i am using a windows program like explorer or even the metro/start menu my left click wont register. i can still control them with my keyboard and every other program works fine but it just stops working when in explorer or similiar ( also tested: taskmanager, regedit, system properties, charms bar, right click properties). What is also weird is that it works fine on the desktop except for the taskbar which stops working as soon as one of the beforementioned programs is running but works fine when only the desktop is open. This behaviour also is not exclusive to my 'gaming' mouse but also to the various other mice i have laying around.

Heres some info:

OS: Win 8.1

Mice tested:

Roccat Kone XTD

Logitech 5€ usb mouse (dunno the model its a cheap black one)

Logitech 5€ ps2 mouse (same chassis as above just with ps2)

Measures i've tried:

1. reinstalling the Kone driver + restart

2. uninstalling the kone driver + restart, so using the default microsoft mouse driver

3. trying the other mice

reinstalling win 8.1 (I dont keep a lot of important stuff on my OS partition)

repeat 1-3

The behavior is not 100% reproducible (it seems random which of the MS programs seems to cause the left click bug) and sometimes it takes 5 minutes or so to kick in and it is always gone with a reboot.

Additional info:

The windows was not older than 2 weeks when this started and i used the same image file with install from a USB3.0 stick could something be wrong with the image/stick?

Thanks in advacne for any ideas.

Cheers

Zaros
