My laptop is broken and I need a new computer .

I have a limit of $2000aud, I want to have a great gaming experience but at the same time I need a laptop because I'm start university soon.

So my plan is to get a $1500 gaming rig and $500 laptop to use a service like Google's remote desktop that allows me to stream my desktop at home.

Is there and tips or help that anyone give me for this plan either from personal experience or other let me know. I.e. Better services than Google's solution.

Or if this idea sounds or works great let me know so I know I'm on the right track.

My logic :

So if I'm wrong tell me in chat and tell me the alternate solution.

So the concern I have with buy a $2000aud gaming laptop is that a. It's heavy at this price range and B it's not going to be as good as a $1500aud gaming desktop.

So by buying a $1500aud and a $500 laptop I can:

A. Keep all files in one place rather than starring an assignment at uni then transfer to save it at home. (I have considered cloud storage but my net caps fast and I need instant access to my work)

B. Because cheap laptops have cheaper parts doing this allows me to have several word docs. open at the same time as well as other applications. (I assume the way it work is that remote desktop just streams a screen as processes are done on the desktop)

C. Be all cool and say "yeah this is streaming from home" to blow their minds.

Is it possible to play games on a laptop by streaming them from a desktop? If so could this be done while connected to different networks without severe lagging issues? I am asking becuase it would be awesome to play games at university for example on my laptop with the power of my desktop. Thanks :)
