Help! Arma 3 optimal settings!?

Go to solution Solved by DarkRift5,

Welcome to Arma 3. Sometimes, it just decides to tank its framerate because it feels like it. I've had weird stuff like that where it was at a stable 60fps and then as soon as I moved I got a solid 8 fps.

It's a great game but it really needs to be worked on. Reduce your draw distances, my 5820k/980 will maintain 50+ with about 2800 distance.

Hey all!

Arma 3 has frustrated the hell out of me... Any advice would be appreciated... I've been playing the campaign. All settings on ultra and visibility overall set to 4000 and have been able to stay 50-70 fps which is great. But I recently have reached a new level (Adapt : Signal Lost) which begins on a beach and then you walk up a hill to get a large view of a huge city and the fps drops to down in the 20's! Is this game just poorly optimized or is there a fix? I don't want to start playing on large multiplayer maps and then have this fps drop happen.Thanks in advance.

Why not just user GeForce experience?

Just remember: Random people on the internet ALWAYS know more than professionals, when someone's lying, AND can predict the future.

There is no optimal setting in ARMA 3 lol, actually turning down shadows can make a difference.

  • 4 weeks later...

I have almost same specs;

980 strix, i7 2600k, Sabertooth p67.

Exactly the same issues!!

A lot of the stuff is often a foot in the middle of stuff.
