Does rebate affect the current price or I mean say an component has a $15 rebate and when you buy it, does the price returns to the original form before rebate or stays $15 off?

How rebate works: you buy the price that is listed before the rebate, you gather a bunch of receipts and proofs that you bought the stuff, you mail it in to the manufacturer, pray that they don't screw you over, and maybe you'll get a check or a gift card with the rebate amount in the mail!

There are instant and mail in rebates. An instant rebate gets taken off the price you pay. WIth mail in, you pay full price up front, then get the rebate in the mail. If you're lucky.

Intel Inside. Overweight guy in his 30's outside.

How would you know if it's an instant or mail in? Does it says it ;-;?
