Hello everyone, I am fairly new to the TechTips community. I wanted to ask your opinions of my computer setup, also, if you think I could get the same performance for a lower cost. Keep in mind my budget for this build is $1,300 usd. You can look at my pcpartpicker build here: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Kurama_200/saved/ypHJ7P

Also, I am attaching the same list to this post as well if you don't want to check the link.

Get a Z97 motherboard and a Hyper 212 Evo cooler.

As for the GPU, take a look at some of the deals on the r9 290 and 290x that are happening atm. theyre pretty epic bang-for-the-buck ATM

Why are you going with a 2.5" HDD in a deesktop?

As for the rest of the build, it looks pretty great :)

My budget as I said was $1,300, and I live in the US.

My aim for this build is to play games at a very stable frame rate. I play fps's like counter strike, Americas Army Beta, battlefield 3, also, I would like to have this build last at least 3-4 years before upgrading the main components.

At the moment, I only have one monitor, and do not need a new one at the moment.

I do not need any peripherals such as a mouse, keyboard, or headset.

I am upgrading because my current computer is 6 years old, and is dying fast.

I would recommend a 240/256 GB ssd and windows 8.1pro, instead of 120GB and win7.

As for the 780. I assume you're gunning for high resolution textures, but I feel you may be sacrificing too much to get it and think the 970 could be a better choice.

:edit: derp didn't see the above post till after I submitted this one.

Well I am getting windows 7 because my one old favorite game doesn't run on windows 8 or 8.1, so its more of a personal thing, but thanks for the reccomendation, I am looking into the 970's now.
