Star Craft 2 Not Applying Patch

Go to solution Solved by soapyy,

May be a firewall problem? Are you using the Battle Net launcher? You may have to re install becasue the bnet launcher is a bit glitchy sometimes. You may be able to find where the patches are installed and remove them and re install all the patches as well. Good luck man, I love sc2, its a great game don't let this problem put a sour taste in your mouth!  :D

So I just got Star Craft 2, and have spent the day downloading it on Australia's next-gen (yes, that's the same 'next-gen' as consoles have) internet connection and it's asking me to restart for a patch update. It's entirely up to date, but is still asking me to restart for it to "automatically update the patch", but, alas the patch shows no signs of working and the problem repeats on re-launch of the game.

I'm running version 2.1.6.32540.

I'm quite sure this is the latest - as it's not letting me download any more and I've set the Blizzard client to automatically update. I've tried restarting, re-installing the game but no luck so far.

Any ideas on what the issue could be?

Yeah - I had all my firewalls checked and everything. Turns out the DL was interrupted before it reached it's 'playable' state - due to the bad internet connection quality, probably corrupting files. I just wiped the install and started again. Seems to be working fine now - although I'm getting all of 200KB/s so it hasn't finished DLing (as in the textures) since I started it again yesterday.

Loving the game. I got mad at Blizzard - even though they apparently have an amazing rep, only to realise it's the internet that caused the data corruption.

Get me to Canada!
