I am about to plug in all the cables for my h100i I notice that it needs a sata cable and a fan cable. On my board I have 5 fans and 5 fan headers. Do I need to plug in the other fan cable on the h100i or will I be fine with just the sata.

The fan cable I believe allows the board to control the pump speed.(without Corsair Link)

So what happens if I don't plug it in?

My current idea is the pump just runs at full speed. However, I've never owned an H100i. Only the Kraken x60, and I just use the 3 pin fan header, but others in the past have told me the H100i requires the SATA cable for power.
