Need a good ultrabook for University (£450 Budget)

namaja59

Hello, I'm off to go to my first year at university soon and I will need a laptop to do my work on. Unfortunately, money is tight and I live in the UK where electronics carry a higher price tag. I'm looking for any laptop which is easy to carry around and has decent performance.

The few I have been considering are:

Acer Aspire Timeline M3 Intel Core i5 4GB/128GB SSD 15.6" Black Ultrabook

or

HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15-b116sa

But i'm open to all suggestions. If you do recommend one can you say some pro's and con's

Thanks

HP is notorious for being a cheap, low end and bad company all around, I have owned the HP Pavillion 3000 I think it was called and it was horrible, the bloatware was big and the I got virus' almost 3 months into the lifespan (and I don't even visit shady websites!) I don't know if HP has changed their ways and accepted the Holy Gaben into their hearts but I still have bad experiences with HP.

You can order for 460$ and I'm sure shipping won't take much money. 460$ equals £293 pretty cheap I think.

Finishing up my build...

Buyers outside the U.S. cannot purchase the following types of items from sellers: video games, toy and baby items, electronics, cameras and photo items, tools and hardware, kitchenware and housewares, sporting goods and outdoor equipment, software, and computers.

That's pretty bad, don't you have any dealer in US from UK who ships goods? There might be some companies which gives you an address in US and then they'll ship to UK.

Not sure about this but i was going to say definitely don't buy something from the US and have it shipped here because most likely you will pay all of the VAT + Import Duty + Admin charges (usually) and it ends up being an appalling deal, plus you get no support.

Incidentally that is the reason things seem expensive here, US pricing usually doesn't include any tax whereas you see the VAT included with most UK purchases.
