I bought a Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 80 OHM headset about 4/5 months ago. After about 1-2 months I started to notice some weird noises coming from the headset when people were talking on mumble. The noise didn't appear when everyone talked, just some people. I thought it wasn't too much of a problem, but after this weekend it suddenly got worse. Now there is a weird sound coming from the right side of the headset every time someone talks on a video, on mumble or when hearing deep bass notes when listening to music. It's a little hard to explain what the noise sounds like, but you can say that it kinda sounds like a deeper and lower version of the teacher from the TV show The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show. My guess is that it somehow got damaged during shipping or that it was already damaged, but I might be wrong.

Its likely the diaphragm is damaged. Nothing you can do but RMA really but you should test it on another system to make sure its not your soundcard.

I am able to get it fixed/get a new one for free, right? It just seems so stupid that this had to happen even though I am being very careful with my belongings.

Honestly I'm not 100% up to speed on Norway's warranty practice's but I think as long as its less than a year old and you have proof of purchase then yeah, you should be able to get a replacement.

I don't know if you are still following this topic, but something else just happened. The headset just suddenly stopped working. The computer knew that it was there, but it said that it wasn't plugged in. It might have just been a one time only problem, but it just seemed kinda weird thinking about all the other problems it have been having lately.
