Hi.

 

I just ordered the final parts for my system. One thing that I forgot from the list was a copy of Windows.

 

Now could/should I install Windows 8.1 on the computer without the key and then later on get a copy? Does Windows 8 have a free trial period like Windows 7 had? 

 

I also noticed that the price of Windows 8.1 was gone up a lot on G2A. Why is that?

You sure that it's limited? Have you tried it?

 

I'm not too keen on using Linux or Steam OS.

There is a win10 trial i think so

You can install Windows 10 and it will be "valid" until the second week of April.

 

I would advise against installing 8 without a key with the expectation that it will function as well, for as long as 10 preview.  Some will disagree though.

But Windows 10 isn't very stable right now? Not really interested in using a broken operating system.

 

I'm not going to use the Windows without the key for a long time so why would it be bad?
