Delete new OS

Hi, i got the bsod yesterday, so i messed around trying to fix it, someone told me to install win8 again alongside the the win8.1 i already have, so i did that and now i want to delete it, as my hdd still has around 1.3TB of steam games that i really dont want to re download. And i cannot access anything from the original OS, can anyone help?

Is this all on the same hard drive?

 

If so, all of your old stuff should be in a folder called windows.old in C:\ unless you formated your drive.

 

Also, you did not need to reinstall windows to fix a bsod.

As much as you may not want to, a clean install is the only way to insure that all related problems get fixed and not just the ones around that bsod issue. Install windows 8.1 on a bootable usb via http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media (google rufus to create a bootable usb if the windows one didn't work). Windows creates a windows.old folder of all the old data so just move the steamapps folder to the new instillation and verify your game cache before launching it.
