Any DDR3 is fine 1600mhz is the sweetspot for gaming but higher wont hurt. As for the mobo you could go for the Asus ROG Hero or somthing like that. Yes adding another 980 will add FPS in game that support SLI do you plan to game in 1080p or higher resolutions?

I prefer an ultra resolutions :)

Here's my last update http://pcpartpicker.com/p/W7tjLk

I tried to add 980 with the 970s, it just replace it with the 970s.

Oh I'm sorry I've got things mixed up

for the GPU

my plan is to add 2x 970 and single 980

but does it effect if the materials were plastic?

You can't SLI 2x 970 and 1x 980, you can either get 980s or 970s, but not both.

Specs: 4790k | Asus Z-97 Pro Wifi | MX100 512GB SSD | NZXT H440 Plastidipped Black | Dark Rock 3 CPU Cooler | MSI 290x Lightning | EVGA 850 G2 | 3x Noctua Industrial NF-F12's

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it

As above, Change out the Maximus VI Formula for the Hero or GB board (save money and spend it on GPU's). You cant SLI two different cards so its either two 970's or two 980's.

Yep you right they are the same, but the wifi will save it rather than buy separate wifi adapter with the Hero since it's only 80 bucks between Hero n Formula. right? :)

Btw does it work if I build water cooling system?

Super PC for gaming, lol, hahaha haha. Octa core with insane hyperthreading is never going to give your ultra performance in gaming. Look at my pc. No offense, it's much better in gaming side than yours . OP, you made some bad HW choice.

Don't judge me mate, thought the CPU plays a big part in gaming performance. Your pc looks great, but what makes it better than mine? If it's the GPU than it's not a big deal. I don't think it'll worth to spend $200 or more for 10-15 fps :)

the GPU is what makes the biggest diffrent you don't need a super good CPU just one good enough so you don't bottleneck your GPU

No CPU doesn't always plays a big role in games! Trust me no one is going to ever ever suggest a 5960x for gaming. Not even Linus.... And 10-15 fps is a big jump. Ad when you are gonna over clock your gpus, you gonna get more performance.

Guess what guys, I can't return the CPU back, it's too late. I had 10 days -_- guess I'll continue with the super settings.

Intel 5960X isn't that bad in gaming, check this video

well it's good to know I have a 7 year old lap top with a duel core duo in it and that's not what's limiting what games it can play it's because it has no GPU and its using i tartare graphics like if I had a GPU on my PC I could run games fine

Yep, it makes a different when you run more than an application while playing

To squeeze every juice out of gpus, everyone does. Especially for 4k gaming. If you are going for 1440P,then one 980 otherwise 980s for 4k.

yes that is true if your going to be let's say recording with fraps (witch I don't reccomended at all) or live streaming you'll need a good CPU but if your just gonna be like watching YouTube vidoes or listing to music on YouTube while gaming havering a beefy CPU won't be required my laptop can do that :P
