Switching Graphics Cards

Go to solution Solved by hopentethking,

My card is a Evga gtx770sc hers is an Sapphire r9 280x toxic

I am building my daughter a pc and her gpu has arrived. I wanted to test it in my gaming rig before the rest of her parts come in. I have Nvidia in mine but she has Amd. Would I have to remove the Nvidia card or just disconnect power to the card and install the Amd card in the next pci slot. Would all Nvidia drivers have to be removed before installing Amd drivers so there is no conflict, or would the pci recognize the card that is powered and use the appropriate driver. Thanks in advance.

You have to remove the Nvidia card. You dont need to remove nvidia drivers. You dont even need to install amd drivers if you just wanna check if the card is putting out a signal btw
