Help With an Interesting Question

For anyone who may know, I have a question. I was changing my guitar stings (After 18 straight hours of play almost). When I tighten the last E string (1), the rest broke simultaneously. How does such happen? The strings were brand new never opened.

I'd say neck tension, I have issues like that on my 8 string, however restringing that thing is a whole new beast.

It could be to the heat, or cold and when you tighten them they either expanded or contracted causing the others to snap

Stored in poor humidity or really old would be my guess. I suppose the weather could have affected it if they were stored in an unheated storage facility.

It is a 2013 Fender Telecaster Custom Shop kept in its case in a room with fairly constant temperature.
