So, I bought a new pc.

It has an hd7870, which I know doesn't have the ability to do physX stuff.

I have heard Linus mention a couple times that PhysX also can be ran of the CPU.

How does this work? Do I have to enable something somewhere, or is this done automatically?

Thanks!

In certain games, you can't use it on the CPU. One of them being Borderlands 2 - unless you hack it. Games like Metro Last Light, Batman Arkham City, and Batman Arkham Asylum allow it to be run off the CPU natively. It'll be in the game's settings.

It should be done automatically. The cpu should handle the phsy x but no where as well as a gpu with phys x enabled can--like an nvidia card.

Only an NVIDIA card currently.
