Alright sometimes when I boot into Windows 8.1 my mouse freezes and stays on my desktop and I can't do anything but reboot the computer, is this an unstable overclock and I need to add more voltage or am I hitting the wall on the CPU and causing damage?

Whats the overclock?

Cpu? Voltage? Temps? Clock speed?

Is an Aida64 stress test stable?

Just going to say this now. You can run a 12 hour stress test and it won't fail. Then you could run a 24 hour and it'll get to the last hour or few minutes then fail.

ya.....you should really run the final stress test (after you think you've found the best oc) for 12+ hours.

I find that after 12 hours you'll usually know.

True... Not really worth doing it for that long, but something like a 2 hour test would be fine then do stuff until you find something that would make it fail.

Figured it out, turned PLL up a little bit and it works fine now.

Yey! That is a nice overclock on your chip btw. I know people would be jealous to hit 4.8GHz on a 3770.

I've actually had stress tests fail me at around the 6 hour mark.... why is really beyond me....You'd think an hour would be enough time to thoroughly test a cpu at full load.

Had it higher for about 10 mins, I wanted to see the ABSOLUTE limit and hit 5.0, I didn't bother to tweak PLL and other voltages so I might of gotten higher. Im just scared of heat, anything above 80 spooks me.
