Raspberry Pi youtube upload server

Go to solution Solved by Guest,

Hey guys, I've wanted to do youtube for a while now, but my internet is crap. My upload speed is about .75mbps, and uploading overnight on my desktop is not practical as it will keep me up because of my noisy PSU. I was just wondering if I could possibly set up a raspi upload server such as follows:

Raspberry pi in case connected to server with either SD card or usb drive (which one would be faster)? ethernet going to router.

I am wondering if I could set it up so that when I ftp upload a file (it would be on same network) then wait until a certain time to upload, say 1am-6am.

This is a very dark area of knowledge for me, as I don't know crap about networking really...

Raspi would be better for me as opposed to desktop because of noise and energy costs

So is it practical? What would I have to do to set it up?
