Sapphire R9-280X

Sandisk 120 SSD

1 500gb drive

2 1tb drive

Blu Ray Optical Drive

Thermaltake 600W PSU

All inside of a Corsair case who's model number i forget with 3 120mm fans in a push pull configuration with the radiator

I guess that's all anyone needs for specs, but short an narrow is that I've had my machine up and running since about July of this year. Had it over clocked to 4 GHz in the BIOS everything set to auto for voltages and everything was running smoothly until out of nowhere while playing Far Cry 3 I got a pop up from AI suite telling me my CPU temps were reaching 65 degrees. So i panicked and closed out of the game and reset the system. I set everything back to factory default and set the CPU back to stock 3.5 speeds and disabled turbo to try and figure out whats going on.

Since then the board temps have been idling at about 47 and maxing at 65 under load CPU has been idle at about 35 and maxing about 65

So i thought maybe it was Far Cry, stop playing it and started playing some other games Cod:Aw seemed to cause the board temp to rise but dark souls 2 barely made it flinch. Just looked at it while playing Battlefield 4 and I am getting 66 on the board and 60 on the CPU

So could it be i need to change my fan situation? Add more maybe? Is my board just not compatible with the CPU? Are those temps OK for the board.

EDIT: Consensus is that temps are fine

Normal temperatures right there.

Some software is WAYY to aggressive in the thermal stuff. Your cpu doesnt even care at all until you hit 80 or so.

Now, your board may be a little bit warm..... do you have case fans?

Ive got 3 case fans total all 120mm two in the front sucking air in one coming through the top and then the fans on the radiator out the back in that push pull configuration.

that sounds pretty good....

Try another monitoring software to see if the temps are correct - could be the software not reading sensors correctly.
