350D or H440?

Go to solution Solved by Flyguygamer,

I know I am the one asking for your time, but could you elaborate? Looking for some reasons why it is/isn't a better case.

I prefer the build quality and the look, it is smaller so it saves space but has great cooling. Corsair support is great if there is ever an issue.  And you can really do some modding if you want to to make it even better.

Been looking at getting a new case for a while, and I can't decide between the 350D or H440. I was deadset on the 350D as I wanted to get a smaller case, but have been told that for a mATX case it really isn't that small and is only a little smaller than the the H440 (which is supposedly a much better case?) Anyone have experience in both cases that can give me some more info to help me decide?

Basically wanting a case that is not impossible to move around (not looking for ITX/mini ATX) but still gives you the ability to customize and cable manage. Will be using a H80i as CPU cooler, and a dual slot 660 gfx card, nothing big.

Thanks!

The 350d is quite big for an matx case and is not much smaller than a midtower. The h440 is pretty much a midtower ATx case

I own the H440 and I will tell you my thoughts on owning it.

Is portable but heavy.

Gorgeous.

Power supply shroud is nice.

Airflow is not as much of a problem as people make it out to be.

Slightly picks up fingerprints.

Plastic windows scratches sooooo easily.

Did I mention gorgeous.

Easy to hide cables, but you WILL need to mange your cables to fit on the back cover. Also relatively easy to work in.

Fancy lights.

If I could go back and choose a different case, I simply wouldn't. I love this case too much and highly recommended it you.

Thanks for the info everyone, appreciate it. I am convinced that the H440 would be better, now is it $50 better is the question

Not really in my opinion, they really shot themselves in the foot with the H440 sales when they dropped the S340 which has same ( if not better ) aesthetics for a lot less.

How about internals, how much better are the H440 internals compared to the S340?

If you look at the S340 its basically a mini H440, it does not have sound dampening foam and lack proper enthusiast watercooling support but the inside is very similar, it somewhat lacks the abudance of 3,5 inch hdd slots as well as the H440 has in the front, on the up side its a lot cheaper and imo much more elegant.

Thanks for the insight. But now I am very confused as to which is the best value. Don't want to get a case and reget getting it x months down the road, as this case will be with me for years.

Thanks, the look of the 350D is what made me want it. I like clean cases. And I do want to do some custom things with my build. As much as people love the H440, I don't think it is worth the extra for me. The S340 looks nice, but I HATE glossy finishes. So unless someone has a reason the 350D would be a bad case, I will be getting that.

That is what I would do. :)

As an H440 owner, I would say it is well worth the money.  Perhaps, though, if the price tag is too much for you, you could wait until Boxing Day and see if there's a good sale.
