What's the point?

The output is exactly the same as the Lepai amp. It will have better components in the SMSL amp but I don't see the point.

The output of your speakers is 75 Watts. Why don't you go for a 2x50W amplifier?

Speakers output decibel, not watts. 50W is ~4db gain over 20W, not really worth the extra cost IMO.

Also: I highly doubt that the Micca's can mechanically cope with 2x50W.

I suggest trying the Lepai. Don't like it? Use it for another project and buy a higher power one for these speakers.

Why not buy a used amp you can get a full blown 1970-1990's amp for under $50?

Google 'lepai amp mod'. Basically there's an instruction to replace the lepai's capacitors and potentiometer, to make it sound better. Never tried it though, so I don't know how it will go.

If you're going to get a new speaker amp anyway, try looking for tube speaker amp, if only to get something different, or for the kicks. There are some DIY tube amps on ebay that're not too pricey.
