Front panel headphone jack problem

Go to solution Solved by Invader369,

Forgot to write back but I received the replacement part relatively fast and installed it without issue. Fractal has pretty good customer service

I'm having some issues with the front panel headphone jack on my case. When playing a video in vlc, media player, youtube videos (chrome and firefox) it seems like there is some sound missing. If I connect them to the back panel everything is fine. I've also used another case's hd audio connector and it also worked fine.

The case in question is a fractal define r4, I already tried calling their support/rma service but its closed and they haven't replied to the email I sent yesterday. Not sure how long their customer service takes (or how good it is).

What should I do?

Ensure that on your soundcard drivers software (I'm not sure if all have it but I know RealTek for example have a program for controlling that sort of stuff) it isn't muting the front panel or anything like that. Even though unlikely just a thought. Then if not, smokincola's post is a good place to start then if not that. Probably a faulty wire/connector!

maybe try disconnecting and reconnecting the audio lead from the front panel to the motherboard, could be a loose cable. Just a thought

Did this after checking on the other case, doesn't fix it

Already got word from fractal yesterday. I should get a replacement soon, after I check out the new one I'll post what happens.
