Wirless network doing strange things...

Go to solution Solved by thepriceyman,

Thought about using a power to ethernet?

I do enjoy playing a spot of counter strike and my internet is fine for doing that:

But yesterday I started encountering ping issues. As you can see from the image below these issues happen when I ping my own router(192.168.1.1):

My ping randomly spikes from 1 or 2 ms to > 300ms, that causes me to be rkt in games.

I am currently using this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B006BSPTAQ (300 Mbps wireless N)

If the issue is the card I am considdering upgrading to N900 wireless dual band (http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B007GMPZ0A)

Would upgrading make a difference?

I have a dual band router and a wired connection is not an option.

Thanks.

You could try just for test an ethernet connection and see  if you still get the same issue.

You'll than know if the problem is the router or the wifi card.

  • 4 weeks later...

Just to end this topic. The issue was with the wireless card and did not occur with ethernet. I have purchased a powerline adapter and all is well.

Thank you all
