I have volunteered to use my rig as the main video edtiting machine for my school's project: Project Horizon: http://horizon.qmgs.walsall.sch.uk/

I asked my mate (the video editor) and my maths teacher (a computer enthusiast for 15 years and the guy who runs it) if they would like to use my rig as the video editing machine and they said yes (both of their PCs arent that great as my teacher has his best PC (i3 and GTX 580) as a server and my friend's PC is in bad shape and doesnt work properly and is pretty old anyway.

Well my friend will go and load up Adobe CS6 Master Collection on my rig in the Christmas holidays and we will de doing mid-level editing of clips of upto 10 minutes.

 

Would my rig be able to handle it and is it a good idea to volunteer for the video editing?

You have a very powerful CPU (I trust it's OC'd to at least 4Ghz?) but a slightly disappointing amount fo RAM but it should power through it anyway

but the video editing is not that heavy
