Nexus 5 not showing up on PC when in bootloader

Nasirdude3211

My nexus wont show up on my PC when its in the bootloader. It works fine when its on but as soon as i type adb reboot bootloader, or even power down and vol dwn power its still wont show up on the pc or device manager.

When its on it shows on the PC as android composite ADB interface. and a nexus audio device.

How do i get my pc to show my phone while in bootloader?

I've run into the same issue with my Nexus 4 in the past. Usually you can fix it be uninstalling old drivers related to Android devices. I usually just follow WugFresh's Nexus Root Toolkit, there's a simple initial setup that helps get a clean install of all the necessary drivers.

Here's a video tutorial on using the toolkit if you'd like to see how it works: http://youtu.be/FC6IVTG7G-E?t=12s

CPU: i7-4790K --- HEATSINK: NZXT Kraken X61 --- MOBO: Asus Z97-A --- GPU: GTX 970 Strix --- RAM: 16GB ADATA XPG --- SSD: 512GB MX100 | 256GB BX200 HDD: 1TB WD Black --- PSU: EVGA SuperNova G2 --- CASE: NZXT H440 --- DISPLAY3 x Dell U2414H --- KEYBOARD: Pok3r (Clears) --- MOUSE: Logitech G Pro --- OS: Windows 10

What do you mean to get the phone to show in bootloader mode? When it's in the screen with the Android guy and you choose reboot/power off/recovery, it's fastboot, and you use commands such as "fastboot devices" to identify the phone.

Desktop: Intel Core i5 2380P (2400 w/o iGPU), MSI H61, 8GB RAM, 256GB SP610, 500GB WD Blue, HIS R9 280, Antec TruePower Classic 550W, Inwin MANA 134, QNIX QX2710, CM QuickFire Rapid, Logitech G402

Laptop: Toshiba Satellite L40D, AMD A6-6310, 6GB RAM, 500GB HDD, Radeon R4 Graphics, 14" 1366x768

Phone: iPhone 6 Space Gray 64GB, T-Mobile $60/mo 3GB plan

No unknown devices shown in device manager? It should be identified as Android Bootloader Interface or something similar when working. Try the official Google USB drivers. http://developer.android.com/sdk/win-usb.html

You probably know this stuff already, but maybe review the procedure. You seem to be doing everything correctly for the most part from what I can tell... maybe reinstall drivers?

Also, why do you need Eclipse? Do you plan on doing some Android Development?

EDIT: Another cool beans thing I found (which I believe I used at one point): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979

I dont need it. I thought i was supposed to install the SDK, and i did this by installing eclipse .

What other drivers?  The only driver i know to install is google USB, and i've re installed it 3 times now.
