Custom cables for hx650

Will these work with my hx650, really trying to go for a red and black look for my build.

They should work. If you look at the cables sold separately, they list the HX650.

Why do these cost so much more?

The one's they linked are the Gen 2 ones, they are supposed to have a better sleeving that you can't see through. There were some reviews saying if you looked close on Gen1 with some colors you could see the cable through it.

Improved version hence "Generation 2". It contains more cables, and has an improved weaving like it says in the description.

 

But the one you linked should work anyway. If you hit the "Tech Specs" tab, it cleary states 650.

depends on version of HX.. silver-rated or gold-rated?

that is the gold-rated PSU so the corsair matrix says the CP-8920008 will work.

the reason they left it out is the silver-rated HX650 has flat 5-pin SATA/peripherals

connector not like your 6-pin SATA/peripherals harnesses. so rather getting a lot

of wrong item purchased returns.. didn't list them.

 

a cool trick would be to buy the 8920008 (red) and 8920005 (black) and swap wires

to get a different effect and more custom look (red/black themed cables). all you need

is a wire tool or paperclip and swap wire colors.

 

(i know its a 24-pin, it is just for reference)

just a custom cool way to mod, without a lot of sleeving time vested.. thought i'd throw that out there.

The reason why there isn't a set for the 24-pin for the HX650 is because cables are fixed to the PSU. Buying the 24-pin connector won't work with your PSU.

 

The red connectors you had listed (CP-8920008) will work on your HX650v2

Yeah, for the 24-pin ATX cable, you'll need a similarly coloured extension cable like the ones Bitfenix do :)
