Quick Question Regarding Display

Go to solution Solved by TDP_Equinox,

Thought so! Thank you.

No problem :)

I just finished my first build today! However, I'm still waiting on the ROG SWIFT to come into stock so I'm stuck using an old monitor. Right now I'm using its VGA connection because I can't find a VGA to DVI converter in the house, but I will pick up a converter tomorrow. So this is where my question comes...when I boot up the PC with the graphics card installed I don't get a display, but when I remove the graphics card and plug the monitor into the motherboard I get the boot screen. Is the computer essentially looking for a connection via the GPU, but not finding it so then it doesn't display?

Thank you!

Did you plug in the cable from the actual Graphics card into the monitor?

GTX 970 doesn't have a VGA display, so I can't plug the monitor into the GPU.

This may have something to do with Secure Boot/Legacy Mode, as unlikely as it sounds.

(I would not advise turning Secure Boot on and off, though, personally).
