dont get the sol republic headphones, they are trash. I would recommend something like the sennheiser 558's. They are great headphones and can be had for close to $100 on amazon.

^ This. Turtle Beach is so bad at making products. Most companies that make headsets care more about overpowering bass just for guns and don't really care at all about lows, mids, and highs.. They only care about making them good at one thing and usually WAY overdo it making them sound terrible. Now some like HyperX and Func aren't bad. But he really can get something decent in his range for $100.

Look into the Koss ProDJ100s and ProDJ200s? I know they probably aren't the best for the money, but they seem nice. :)

these are good all-around headphones, they're really popular:

http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-280-Pro-Headphones/dp/B000065BPB

ultrasone is especially good for electronic music, I don't know a lot about these particular headphones though:

I've also hear good things about these:

Im 30 of course I know about Nirvana and Metallica ... I grew up in that time LOL. After Freddie Mercury died so did Queen. I am not into his replacement. Def Leopard is great if you are trying to get laid by a native chick.
