Hey everyone,

So I just got 2x 2tb seagate hard drives to put in raid 1. I don't know if it's just one or both, but there is a weird noise whenever the hard drive is getting accessed. It's random and I can't predict when it happens. One of my external hard drives makes the sound as well, but only when the drive has had power removed from it. Any ideas? Or is this normal?

Thanks, in advanced.

It's probably defective if it doesn't sound like you're typical "spinning up" sound.
